Calico Digital Assets LLC ("Calico Digital Assets”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) wants you to be familiar with how we collect, use, and disclose Personal Information. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes our practices in connection with Personal Information that we collect through: 

  • Websites operated by us from which you are accessing this Privacy Policy, including getcalico.xyz (“Websites”); 

  • The software applications we make available for use on computers and mobile devices, including the Calico mobile app (“Apps”); 

  • HTML-formatted email messages or other communications that we send to you that link to this Privacy Policy (“Emails”);

  • and Any other offline business interactions you may have with us (“Offline Interactions”). 

  • Collectively, we refer to the Websites, Apps, Emails, and Offline Interactions as the “Services.” 

How and why we obtain and use information about you 

Personal Information  

We and our service providers may collect Personal Information and other information when you use the Services and when you interact with us or our service providers. “Personal Information” means information that identifies an individual or relates to an identifiable individual.  

The Personal Information we collect, use, and disclose may vary depending on the offerings you use, including whether you deal with us in your individual capacity or as a representative of a business account.  


Information we collect about you 

Calico and our service providers collect the following categories of Personal Information from you and automatically: 

  • Contact details, such as name, prefix, email address, and phone number; 

  • Preferences, such as language, interests, and other feedback/preferences that you might express during your use of the Services; 

  • Marketing data, such as your choices regarding our newsletters, surveys, and other marketing/advertising displayed or provided to you, and preferred methods of such promotional communication; 

  • Visitor and event information, such as issued identification pass to access the premises, and other details specific to a particular event;  

  • Commercial information, such as details of your communications with us, information you enter when using the Services;  

  • Online activity data, such as pages or screens you viewed, navigation paths between pages or screens, information about your activity on a page or screen, access times and duration, and whether you have opened our marketing emails or clicked links within them; 

  • Device information, such as for crash reporting which is only used to debug issues: device’s operating system type and version, manufacturer and model and RAM; 

  • Audio/visual data, such as call and video recordings, photos and videos taken at one of our events/conferences, CCTV and site security information;

  • and Geolocation data, such as device location and approximate location derived from IP address. 

The information we and our service providers receive from a particular source may be linked or combined with information from other sources. 


How we collect information about you  

We and our service providers may collect Personal Information from the following sources: 

  • You on applications or forms associated with the Services. 

  • You, from your interactions (whether via online or other means) with us or our service providers (for example, when you communicate with us or participate in a pilot program).

  • Third-party platform providers that operate platforms where we market and make our Services available. 

  • Third –party analytics providers, such as Google Firebase and Pendo, that help us measure traffic and usage trends for our Services and to understand more about the demographics of our users. 

  • Automatically, via technologies such as cookies and web beacons, when you interact with our digital offerings or electronic communications. 

  • Our affiliated companies

  • Other third-party sources, including government sources and publicly available sources (for example, to better understand your product and service needs). 

  • Offline, such as when you sign up for more information at a Calico booth at a, conference, or other event or when you visit our offices or facilities.  

  • Other sources with your consent or as directed by you. 

We need to collect Personal Information to provide the requested Services to you. If you do not provide the information requested, we may not be able to provide the Services. If you disclose any Personal Information relating to other people to us or to our service providers in connection with the Services, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. 


How we use information about you 

We may use the Personal Information that we or our service providers collect for the following purposes:   

  • To enable you to use the Services, including providing the Services’ functionality, verifying your information, and sending you administrative information regarding the Services and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies. We engage in these activities in order to manage our contractual relationship with you and/or based on our legitimate interest. 

  • To support our operations, including conducting troubleshooting and diagnostic testing, conducting performance analyses of our systems and Services, testing new system features to evaluate their impact, conducting system and log maintenance, providing technical support, conducting system debugging, and hosting data. We engage in these activities in order to manage our contractual relationship with you and/or based on our legitimate interest. 

  • To respond to inquiries from you and fulfill requests from you, such as when you send us questions, suggestions, compliments or complaints, in order to manage our contractual relationship with you and/or to comply with a legal obligation. 

  • To evaluate your eligibility to participate in certain Services such as beta experiences, including verifying your identity, in order to manage our contractual relationship with you and/or to comply with a legal obligation. 

  • For marketing and communication purposes, such as sending you newsletters, event invitations, and mailings that we think may be of interest to you and fulfilling your event registration requests. Where required under applicable law, we obtain your consent to send you direct marketing. Where permitted by applicable law, we engage in targeted advertising based on our legitimate interest. 

  • To personalize our Services, including personalizing your interactions and experiences with us and providing you with information and/or offers tailored to your interests, such as delivering content via our Services that we believe will be relevant or interesting to you. Where required under applicable law, we obtain your consent to provide personalized Services.  Where permitted by applicable law, we also personalize the Services based on our legitimate interest, such as providing tailored Services based on your preferences. 

  • To conduct targeted advertising by engaging third-party advertising companies to display ads to you on other websites and online services. These companies may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your interactions over time and across the Services, our communications, and other online services, and use that information to serve online ads that they think will interest you. We may also share information about our users with these companies to facilitate interest-based advertising to our or similar users (known as a “lookalike audience”) on other online platforms. Where required under applicable law, we obtain your consent to send you direct marketing. Where permitted by applicable law, we also engage in targeted advertising based on our legitimate interest, such as providing tailored Services based on your preferences. 

  • To provide and improve the Services, and develop, offer, and deliver other products and services, including monitoring and analyzing Services use and using data analytics to improve the efficiency of our Services, considering ways to enhance, improve, repair, maintain, or modify our Services, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of promotional campaigns, and operating and expanding our business activities. We engage in these activities in order to manage our contractual relationship with you, to comply with a legal obligation, and/or based on our legitimate interest. 

  • For our internal business purposes such as reporting, planning and analytical purposes, and training and quality control purposes, in order to manage our contractual relationship with you, to comply with a legal obligation, and/or based on our legitimate interest. 

  • For relationship building and engagement, such as interacting with you on social media platforms and conducting other customer relationship building activities, in order to manage our contractual relationship with you, to comply with a legal obligation, and/or based on our legitimate interest. 

  • To facilitate visits and events when we welcome guests and visitors to our premises, in order to manage our contractual relationship with you and/or based on our legitimate interest. 

  • To aggregate and/or anonymize Personal Information so that it will no longer be considered Personal Information, such as to generate anonymized data for our own business purposes which does not identify you or another individual. We engage in these activities based on our legitimate interest, such as to generate anonymized data for our own business purposes. 

  • To detect and prevent fraudulent, malicious, or illegal activity, for risk control and mitigation purposes, to conduct audits, to monitor for and prevent fraud, for security purposes, including maintaining system security and on-site security of our premises, and to fulfill legal, judicial, contractual, and regulatory requirements, in order to comply with a legal obligation and/or based on our legitimate interest. 

  • To fulfill our legal obligations, including complying with applicable laws, complying with legal processes, responding to requests from public and government authorities, meeting national security or law enforcement requirements, and complying with requirements set by industry-specific supervisory bodies. We engage in these activities in order to manage our contractual relationship with you, and/or to comply with a legal obligation. 

  • To fulfill our compliance-related obligations, including enforcing our terms and conditions and standards, protecting our operations, protecting Calico’s rights, privacy, or property, responding to auditors, and allowing us to pursue available legal remedies and make insurance claims, defend claims, and limit the damages that Calico may sustain. We engage in these activities in order to manage our contractual relationship with you, to comply with a legal obligation, and/or based on our legitimate interest. 

  • In connection with corporate business transactions such as a merger, joint venture, corporate reorganization, or sale of a business or portion thereof, in order to manage our contractual relationship with you and/or to comply with a legal obligation. 

  • For emergency and incident response such as ensuring the safety of on-site personnel and visitors, actively monitoring properties to ensure adequate incident prevention, response, and documentation (including CCTV), requesting assistance from emergency services, and sending notifications and alerts in the event of incidents or emergencies (such as via SMS, email, call, audio-visual device prompts, etc.). We engage in these activities in order to protect individuals’ vital interests and/or based on our legitimate interest. 


How we share information about you with our affiliates 

We may share Personal Information with our affiliated companies that are providing services to us, such as administrative, business, and data processing services. In such instances, Calico is the party responsible for the management of the shared Personal Information.  

In addition, we may share information about you with affiliated companies for use in their own businesses, including developing, marketing, offering and delivering their products and services. In such instances, our affiliates will be responsible for handling all of your legitimate requests regarding shared Personal Information. 


How we share information about you with third parties 

We may share Personal Information with the following third parties: 

  • Service providers, including service providers that provide website hosting, IT and related infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, and other services; 

  • Other third parties with which we or our affiliated companies have a business relationship, including event co-sponsors and third parties in connection with licensing, joint development, or similar arrangements;

  • Third-party advertisers

  • Analytics providers

  • Government agencies, other regulatory bodies, and law enforcement; and

Our Services may have links to third party sites. If you choose to use or indicate your interest in using a product or service that is offered by a third party and made available through Calico, we may share Personal Information with that third party in connection with your use or interest of that product or service. 

We obligate our service providers to keep the Personal Information we share with them confidential and use it only to provide the services specified by us. 


Calico Mobile Application 

Our Calico mobile application is a cryptocurrency portfolio aggregator and tracker designed to empower our users to monitor active cryptocurrency, decentralized finance and NFTs by aggregating holdings of multiple wallets and centralized exchanges into one convenient place. This information is aggregated by using wallet public addresses and exchange API keys that you provide to identify cryptocurrency, DeFi, and NFT portfolios that are recorded on shared, immutable ledgers called blockchain and private exchange databases. Our mobile app then displays wallet and exchange holdings to our users that are made available via the app.  


We and our service providers may collect the following blockchain information which is stored locally on your mobile device and is not stored on our servers: 

  • Public Blockchain Identifiers such as wallet and exchange addresses used to identify cryptocurrency, DeFi and NFT portfolios users maintain. 

  • API Key and Secret such as the information provided by a third-party exchange to query and retrieve a user’s account balances. 

  • Portfolio Information such as balances, assets and transactions connected to your cryptocurrency, DeFi and NFT portfolios.  

We receive from Apple and our analytics service providers and process certain anonymized, aggregated device information about the users of our Calico mobile app and their use of the app, such as: 

  • Log Data: including device model and operating software version, version of our mobile app installed, the time spent on our mobile app, and any errors that may occur during use of our Calico mobile app.  

  • App Use Analytics Data: including pages viewed on our mobile app, actions taken on our app, app features used and the time of use, version of our Calico mobile app installed, the countries from where the app is accessed, and the dates and times of access, or use the app. 

  • Statistical Location Data: country-level usage statistics. 


Cookies and similar technologies 

Calico and our service providers may use cookies to support the operation of and maintain our digital offerings. Cookies are small amounts of data that a website or online service exchanges with a web browser or application on a visitor's device (e.g., computer, tablet, or mobile phone). Cookies help us to collect information about users of our digital offerings, including date and time of visits, pages viewed, links clicked, amount of time spent using our digital offerings, or general information about the device used to access our digital offerings. Cookies are also used for security purposes and to personalize your experience, such as customizing your screen layout. 


Both Calico and the service providers we hire may use cookies and other technologies, such as web beacons, pixel tags, or mobile device ID, in online advertising as described below. Most browsers and mobile devices offer their own settings to manage cookies. If you use those settings to refuse or delete cookies it may negatively impact your experience using our digital offerings, as some features and services on our digital offerings may not work properly. For example, you may not be able to sign in and access your account, or we may not be able to recognize you, your device, or your online preferences. Depending on your device and operating system, you may not be able to delete or block all cookies. 


We may also use cookies and similar technologies in emails that we send to you. Depending upon the email client/service that you use, you may have the option to prevent the automatic downloading of images which would suppress these cookies and similar technologies. 


We may collect analytics data or use third party analytics tools such as Google Analytics, among other things, to help us measure traffic and usage trends for our digital offerings, to improve the effectiveness of our online advertising, and to understand more about the demographics of our users. Third-party websites, online services, and content 

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Services. The Services may contain links to third-party websites, such as a link to a third-party platform where you can purchase a license to access and use some of our Services. Please note that these third-party websites are not subject to this Privacy Policy. We are not affiliated with, nor do we control, any of these third parties. Your use of any such third-party website, and such website’s collection, processing or use of your Personal Information, is subject to the privacy policy and other terms and conditions associated with such website. We are not responsible for any aspect of any such other website, including, without limitation, its privacy practices, your account on such service, or the content of such website. 


Email marketing choices 

You have choices regarding marketing-related communications. Where required by applicable law, we will ask for your prior opt-in consent. If you no longer want to receive marketing-related emails from us on a going-forward basis, you may opt out by following the unsubscribe instructions in any such message.  

We will try to comply with your request(s) as soon as reasonably practicable. Please note that if you opt out of receiving marketing from us, we may still send you important administrative messages, from which you cannot opt out.  


Children’s privacy 

Our Websites and Services are not directed to individuals under the age of thirteen (13). We do not intentionally collect Personal Information on our Websites and Services from those we know are under 13, and we request that these individuals do not provide us with any Personal Information.

When we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will change the “Last Updated” date specified at the beginning of this Privacy Policy. All changes shall be effective from the date the updated Privacy Policy is published, unless otherwise specifically stated in the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy on a regular basis so that you will be aware of any changes to it.
